
BI Talk with Prof. Sigurd Larsen
On Wednesday, May 18, between 18:00 and 19:30, the second BI Talk of the Spring Semester 2022 will take place. Our Guest, Prof. Sigurd Larsen, lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Berlin International will give a lecture about the buildings and furniture he has built over the past years with his design studio Sigurd Larsen Architekten. The title of the presentation is "Context as a choice".
Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss.
The BI Talk will take place on campus at Salzufer 6, 10587 Berlin in Studio 2.

About Sigurd Larsen
Sigurd Larsen was born in Denmark where he studied Architecture at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Copenhagen. He graduated with a Master’s degree in 2008. He has previously been employed at OMA-Rem Koolhaas in New York, MVRDV in Rotterdam, COBE in Copenhagen/Berlin and Topotek1 in Berlin. Prof. Larsen founded his design studio in 2010 and recently completed single-family houses in Denmark, Germany, Austria, France and Greece. Apart from houses the studio completed a series of loft rooms at Michelberger Hotel in Berlin as well as the treetop hotel Løvtag in Denmark and public schools in Germany. The work of the studio combines the aesthetics of high-quality materials with concepts focusing on functionality in complex spaces. From 2011 to 2016 Prof. Larsen was assistant professor at University of the Arts, Berlin where he taught architectural design with Professor Enrique Sobejano, co-founder of Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos. At BI he teaches courses in the BA Architecture and BA Interior Architecture/Interior Design programs.
