Business Administration Students Visit the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE)
On April 15, 2026, a group of Business Administration students, accompanied by Prof. Mantel and Prof. Hynes, visited the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) in Berlin. Originally organized for the Economic Policy and International Economics BA course, the excursion also attracted many students who were keen to participate in this valuable learning experience.
During the visit, the group attended a 90-minute presentation held in the ministry’s press conference room. The session provided insights into the ministry’s key responsibilities, current economic and political challenges, and its role in shaping Germany’s economic policy. Students also had the opportunity to engage directly by asking questions and discussing relevant topics with representatives.
The excursion offered a unique opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge from the classroom with real-world policy-making. Students described the experience as highly insightful and inspiring, highlighting the value of gaining first-hand exposure to governmental institutions and economic decision-making processes.
Overall, the visit to the BMWE was a great success and an enriching experience for all participants, strengthening their understanding of international economics and public policy in practice.
