Prof. Lukas Staudinger

Architecture
Lukas Staudinger is an architect and curator of urban practice. He studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and at the University of the Arts in Berlin. Additionally, he holds an MA in World Cities and Urban Life from the Department of Sociology at Goldsmiths University of London.
He is the co-founder of POLIGONAL, a Berlin-based office that explores the intersections of urban practice, urban communication, and urban design, utilizing both artistic and curatorial methodologies. With POLIGONAL, Lukas aims to introduce non-normative perspectives by designing formats and urban interventions that facilitate communication and discussion of urbanistic and sociological topics through cross-disciplinary collaborations. These endeavors encompass performative urban explorations, exhibitions, festivals, and curatorial projects focusing on urban transformation, marginalization, and queerness.
In the realm of academia and education, Prof. Staudinger has taught at various universities in Germany, including Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg, Technical University Berlin, and Bauhaus University Weimar. He has also served as a lecturer and expert on urban space, conducting workshops and seminars at universities and cultural institutions globally. His research and publications focus on historical and contemporary urban planning, art in public space, and queer urban everyday life.
Since February 2024, Lukas Staudinger holds the position of Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences.
