Re-Design of Hotel Astoria Leipzig
The 4th semester Interior Design students of BAU International Berlin have worked this semester from the beginning of March until mid-June on the re-design of the Hotel Astoria in Leipzig.
The project was a collaboration of BAU International Berlin and the Intown Group.
The glamorous hotel building, which is a landmark for the city Leipzig was built between 1913 and 1915, and was used as a hotel until it closed its doors to public in 1996. The hotel is planned to re-open in 2020.
The student-project kicked off in March with a visit to the building site in Leipzig.
Students were asked to design the interiors of the entrance, the lobby and reception, the ballroom, as well as to develop design proposals for the interiors of two types of rooms.
The project was wrapped up on the 11th of June, Monday with a presentation and exhibition.
The projects were exhibited in Studio III at the premises of BAU International Berlin from the 11th of June until the 5th of July, and are currently in exhibit on the 5th floor of the Intown Group’s premises. We would like to use the opportunity to thank the Intown Group.
