The Mars Experience
The exhibition can be seen in the foyer of the Zeiss Großplanetarium until February 2020. The exhibition is available in German as well as English.
While the Moon is en vogue right now, the next _planetary_ destination is Mars. In 2016, SpaceX successfully landed a rocket returning from orbit, enabling cost-effective Earth–Space transport. But are big rockets all we need to go to the Red Planet? Social aspects of the Mars Experience need our attention as well: The farewell to Earth (Clean Choice), civilian space travel (Fine Flight), arrival at an unfamiliar habitat (Wonderful Welcome), and permanent settling (Enjoyable Everyday). These four phases can be deliberately designed to provide a more enjoyable experience for participating space emigrants. In spring 2019, student teams from Berlin International University of Applied Sciences developed matching visionary products or services, rounded off by a marketing campaign, branding, launch and distribution strategy. This exhibition shows a selection of projects – join us for a glimpse into an exciting potential future.
