BI Students Visit EY
Exploring the Future of Auditing
On November 24th, 2025, a field trip took place, organized and accompanied by Prof. Dr. Peter Mantel, Students from the Faculty of Business Administration at Berlin International had the unique opportunity to attend an exclusive event hosted by one of the world’s leading accounting firms, EY (Ernst & Young).
The visit provided an insightful view into the world of auditing and accounting at a global level. Students were warmly welcomed by Ms. Patricia Schulz (Director at EY) and Ms. Katrin Bonk (Manager at EY), who guided them through the company and shared valuable insights about EY’s operations and culture.
During the event, key topics were discussed, including:
- EY as a Top Global Accounting Firm: Understanding what makes EY one of the “Big Four” accounting firms.
- Career Opportunities: Students had the chance to ask many questions about auditing, career paths at EY, and professional growth within the company.
- The Future of Auditing in the Age of AI: A fascinating discussion on how artificial intelligence is shaping auditing practices and the profession’s future.
- Interactive Case Study: Students participated in a case study divided into four groups, allowing them to apply their knowledge in a practical context.
- Networking and Hospitality: The event featured excellent catering and a friendly, professional atmosphere.
The students greatly appreciated the experience, highlighting the opportunity to interact with EY professionals and gain first-hand insights into the auditing industry. This visit not only provided valuable professional insights but also inspired our students to explore the dynamic and evolving world of auditing and accounting.
