Students Present “Critical Souvenirs – Archive of the Present” at mowe Festival
Students from our Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Graphic Design programmes participated in this year’s mowe Festival for Art and Urban Culture with the exhibition “Critical Souvenirs – Archive of the Present.”
The exhibition took place on 8 May 2026 at CittiPoint Operation Himmelblick in Berlin.
About the Exhibition
The project was developed as part of the Critical Thinking course.
Students created critical souvenirs based on iconic places in Berlin. Their works explored hidden stories, overlooked details, and contradictions within urban spaces.
The exhibition asked a simple but important question:
What can a souvenir be?
Not only an object of memory, but also a way to reflect on a place, question its meaning, and document the present.
Student Participation at mowe Festival
By presenting their work at mowe Festival for Art and Urban Culture, students had the opportunity to share their ideas with a public audience beyond the university.
The exhibition brought together perspectives from architecture, interior architecture, and graphic design, showing how different disciplines can respond to the city through research, observation, and making.
Course Team
Thank you to Anna Bernhardt, Dr. Sait Ali Köknar, Omer Polak, and Miriam Dreyer for leading the course and supporting the students throughout the project.
