About the Talk
The talk will examine how artificial intelligence is being applied to address misinformation and hate speech across online platforms.
It will cover AI-driven tools for detecting, moderating, and preventing harmful content, including their strengths, limitations, and ethical considerations.
The presentation will also discuss recent advances in natural language processing and machine learning that support the identification of problematic content. It will include approaches that combine automated systems with human oversight for more balanced and responsible moderation.
About the Speaker
Dr. Abhishek Kaushik is a Lecturer and Programme Director in Data Analytics at Dundalk Institute of Technology. He is also a Principal Investigator at the Regulated Software Research Centre.
His research focuses on artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and data-driven approaches for analysing online content. His work aims to develop AI-based solutions to address misinformation, harmful online content, and trustworthy digital communication.
His broader research interests include machine learning, social media analytics, text mining, misinformation detection, online safety, and responsible AI.
