Thilo Folkerts studied Landscape Architecture at Technische Universität Berlin, taught as an assistant professor at the Department of Landscape Architecture at ETH Zurich, and as guest professor at the School of Landscape Architecture at the Université de Montréal. He was a lecturer at TU Berlin and at the Academy of the Arts in Stuttgart. In 2014, he was a fellow at the German Academy Villa Massimo in Rome. He is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche. Since the late nineties, Thilo Folkerts has been working on landscape architecture projects and temporary experimental works that examine the concept of the garden. He has completed projects in Canada, Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany, and Belgium and founded his Berlin-based firm 100Landschaftsarchitektur in 2007. In addition to working as a landscape architect he pursues his interest in the unique language of gardens and landscapes as author, editor, and translator.
