Berlin International and Hosei University (Tokyo, Japan) signed a partnership agreement in 2017. Only shortly afterwards, Mr. Tamayo Kato, joined Berlin International as a guest researcher in order to complete research for his Master thesis. He presented findings from his extensive field trips in Germany and Europe in his farewell presentation titled: “The sacred places of water in Europe – legend, architecture and urban development”. Tamayo Kato was supported academically during his stay by Prof. Masayo Ave. The presentation ended with a lively discussion among the guests present on types of sacred places of waters, functions and questions on their typology and distribution.
