Students at “The Cool and the Cold” + “Zanele Muholi”
On a chilly Thursday in December, the Graphic Design and Visual Communication first semester students and Lecturer Anna Bernhardt met in the warm and pleasant interior of the Gropius Bau to screen world class artworks.
The Cool and the Cold presents painting from the USA and the USSR 1960–1990. Working together in pairs, the students analyzed selected artworks based on team assignments Prof. Alexander Tibus had prepared for them.
After lunch, all met again at the museum. Photography Lecturer Kalinka Gieseler took all to the exhibition of the photographic activist Zanele Muholi who “has been documenting the life of Black LGBTQIA+ communities since the early 2000s in intimate and powerful photographs across South Africa and beyond.” | berlinerfestspiele.de.
A warm Thank You from the students and Lecturers to the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) for the funding of this intercultural excursion!
